Valency International Partners with Revāta Carbon to Decarbonise their Global Value Chain

Bringing together global supply chain expertise and agri-waste-to-value innovation, this partnership’s initial focus is on decarbonising the cashew industry in West Africa - the world’s largest cashew-producing region.

Singapore, June 17, 2025 – Valency International, a global leader in agri-commodity sourcing, processing, and supply chain management, has announced a strategic partnership with Revāta Carbon, an end-to-end sustainability-solutions provider specialising in agriwaste valorisation and carbon removal solutions. Together, they are set to launch West Africa’s first large-scale biochar commercialisation project to decarbonise the cashew value chain.

Transforming Cashew Waste at Scale: A First-of-Its-Kind Initiative

Despite being the world’s largest cashew-producing region, West Africa faces a significant challenge: thousands of tonnes of cashew shell waste are discarded or incinerated annually, contributing to emissions and overlooking a valuable resource for sustainable applications.

Through this partnership, Valency International and Revāta Carbon will transform 35,000 tonnes of cashew shell waste annually in Valency’s cashew processing operations in Nigeria and Côte d’Ivoire. Unlocking its potential for carbon sequestration, soil enhancement, and renewable energy applications, this project is the region’s largest and most comprehensive agri-waste valorisation initiatives.

It will generate sustainable byproducts for reintegration into agricultural ecosystems and commercial industrial use.

Strengthening Circular Economy and Community Impact

Through this collaboration, Valency International will leverage Revāta Carbon’s advanced agri-waste-to-value technologies to enhance resource efficiency, repurpose cashew shell waste into high-value applications, and build a more resilient supply chain by reducing reliance on external agricultural inputs.

By improving soil health and reducing reliance on synthetic inputs, this initiative strengthens food security by ensuring more stable and sustainable agricultural production, supporting long-term crop resilience.

Beyond its environmental benefits, the project will drive economic empowerment by creating jobs across the cashew value chain while fostering inclusive growth and strengthening livelihoods.

A Commitment to Scalable Solutions

“Through this partnership with Revāta Carbon, we are accelerating our commitment to reducing agri-waste and driving sustainability innovation across our agri-supply chains,” said Mr Sumit Jain, Group CEO at Valency International. “This project advances sustainability while creating local jobs, long-term food security, and economic stability.”

“Sustainability is not a cost centre; it’s a driver of profitability and impact. Partnering with Valency International allows us to integrate advanced agri-waste-to-value solutions into a global supply chain, setting a precedent for decarbonisation-driven business models in agriculture”, said Mr Vaibav Jain, Founder & CEO of Revāta Carbon.
